Coming soon!

"My Life as a Magical Girl" is an upcoming comic series about a depressed teen named Selena who rediscovers herself with the power of love, friendship, and magical shenanigans. Her life gets turned upside down when her first day of school turns for the worst. Giant rats are attacking the whole school! Can she save the day with her new-found friends and a talking cat or will darkness take over the Bay Area?

It all started with a dream…

The idea came to me after losing my long-time friend group right before the Covid-19 lockdown. I was sucked into a deep depression where I didn’t leave my room for days. Inspired by cartoons and video games around me like Persona 5 and RWBY. I dreamed of fighting injustice with magical powers and friends who would stick with me through thick and thin. It wasn’t long before the first concepts of “My Life as a Magical Girl” was born.

I wouldn’t touch this project until my senior year in high school when I was given the opportunity to make a pilot for my senior project. I got my friends to help me with the voice acting and started storyboarding the pilot while sick with COVID-19.

After graduating high school, I enrolled in my local community college. I knew I wanted to create art as a living but didn’t have a “Direction” until I learned about the James O'Keefe Comic Contest. I finished a 45-page comic in two months, just in time for the deadline. I ended up winning the Grand Prize and received the Dana Terrace award.Since then, I have published the book on both Amazon and Webtoons. I also sold the book in person at art markets and book signings at my local Barnes and Noble. Talking to my peers, teachers, and strangers who have taken an interest in my work made me realize the impact my story had, especially for people with underrepresented identities. Hearing that my story has touched the hearts of so many made me realize that this story needed to be told…

3rd Line up for “My Life as a Magical Girl” (2023)

I’ve been working day and night to make “My Life as a Magical Girl” into a fully realized comic series, currently set to release in 2026. The series aims to shine a spotlight on the mental health of our youth and the difficulty of discovering your “true self” in a world full of negativity.
